FEBRUARY IS CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH MONTH
As a parent, our obsession with teeth begins early. Is it teething or crankiness? At what age will the tooth fairy come and how much will they leave? When should I schedule the first dental visit? Will I need a second mortgage to afford braces? Not only do we start saving for college when our kids are born, most of us at some point will need a savings set aside for our children's dental work.
One of the most important thing to remember when choosing the right dentist is to find someone you and your children feel comfortable with. The kids will love the fun little rewards they get after their visits and the flavored cleaners they use.
Did you know that many kids now think it is cool to have braces? Kids get to decide what color their retainer is going to be, if they want soccer balls on their braces if they want holiday colored bands and the choices go on and on.

My daughters overall have been pretty good about brushing; however we do have to remind them every morning and again every night. And when they were younger, I often I had to send them back in when they come out after 30 seconds saying, "I brushed my teeth". I asked our dentist how long they should be brushing and they gave me a 2 minute egg timer so that our kids would know when to stop. This is a great help and keeps me from nagging. There are also toothbrushes with built-in music and when the music stops, the kids know they are done... CONTINUE >
